Transplant Recipient Coordinator

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

This role oversees and manages the complex process of organ donation and transplantation ensuring that it is conducted ethically professionally and in a manner that respects the wishes of donors and their families while saving and improving the lives of transplant recipients

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Donor Evaluation and Co-ordination : Assess potential organ donors for eligibility suitability and medical -ordinate with hospitals medical teams and organ procurement organisations (OPOs) to facilitate the donation process
• Communication and Liaison : Act as a central point of contact between various stakeholders including donor families transplant centres medical staff and regulatory bodies. Maintain clear and effective communication throughout the donation and transplantation process
• Documentation and Compliance : Maintain accurate documentation of donor information consent forms medical records and other relevant documentation. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to organ donation and transplantation
• Support and Education : Provide guidance support and education to donor families regarding the donation process answering their questions and offering emotional support during a difficult time. Conduct educational programs to raise awareness about organ donation and transplantation
• Logistics and Coordination : Co-ordinate the logistical aspects of organ recovery transportation and transplantation. Ensure timely and safe transportation of organs to designated transplant centres
• Quality Assurance : Maintain high standards of quality safety and ethical practices throughout the donation and transplantation process. Follow established protocols to ensure the proper handling and transplantation of organs
