Overview
Senior Certified Aviation Technician : Mechanical — FlySafair. The role involves line maintenance duties to ensure airworthiness and compliance with SACAA requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform various SVM / Flight line duties including line maintenance inspections;
- Conduct line maintenance inspections; ensure quality in Pre-Flight, Post Flight and Transit inspections;
- Perform routine and non-routine inspections and maintenance on aircraft to meet safety and operational standards;
- Conduct routine inspections on mechanical systems on the aircraft;
- Fault finding and rectification based on the fault;
- Perform A-checks including weekly service checks;
- Perform thorough daily inspections of the aircraft to identify potential issues or defects;
- Conduct necessary maintenance tasks to ensure airworthiness;
- Adhere to maintenance procedures and safety standards;
- Record and sign off activities per SACAA requirements to ensure legal compliance;
- Maintain Health and Safety, fire and incident prevention;
- Ensure work area, equipment and tooling are safe and maintained before starting work;
- Maintain high quality and standard of inspections;
- Apply analytical thinking and troubleshooting to identify root causes and implement solutions;
- Communicate clearly and professionally to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion.
Qualifications
Grade 12 or equivalent;Mechanical Trade test certificate (Essential);Licensed AME with a SACAA A & C License on B737 / 800;Certified on B737 / 800 airframe series and 7B series engines (Essential);Minimum of 15 years aviation experience (Essential);Previous experience as an Aviation technician on B737 / 800 mechanical systems (Essential);Previous Line Maintenance exposure (Essential);OJT experience (Essential);Previous experience as an Aviation technician on B737-8 (MAX) mechanical systems (Advantageous);Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays;Available to travel at short notice, both locally and internationally;Valid South-African passport holder;Understanding of technical aircraft publications and documentation;Thorough understanding of mechanical schematic systems;Excellent knowledge and troubleshooting on B737 / 400 / 800;Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Application Guideline
