Are you interested in being an accountant at a nation-wide retailer? Our client is looking for an accountant who can perform the full financial function of our business, and an outgoing, confident individual who will fit in well with our vibrant team.

Duties & Responsibilities

You will be responsible for preparing the management accountants and internal controls. Your duties include, but are not limited to the following :

• Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements
• Forecast cash flow positions related to borrowing needs and available funds
• Support and prepare for the annual financial audit
• Create additional analyses and reports as requested by management
• Management of the finance department and staff
• Forecast and budget preparation
• Measuring financial performance against key performance indicators
• Keeping accurate financial records and reconciliations of key accounts
• Maintaining accurate fixed asset and tax asset registers
• Preparing and balancing of the bank reconciliations
• Performing cost benchmarking studies to identify areas of cost saving
• Propose and implement financial best practices
• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures

Skills & Experience :

Newly SAICA / SAIPA completed; or Minimum 5 years of experience as a junior accountant or creditors clerk (or similar).

Qualification :

SAICA or SAIPA articles

Degree or National Diploma in Accounting
