BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST
Accountable for specialist outputs and initiating changes in processes, policies, procedures, standards and services within inter-related functional areas of responsibility. This role will work with various concrete variables, requiring an understanding of the theory or practices underpinning inter-related functional processes within a multi-procedural environment.
Job Purpose
This role will provide specialist outputs to the business by delivering system project implementation, process changes, integrations, migrations and business intelligence reporting to internal customers through application and vendor management. Thereby acting as a catalist for operational excellence and sustainable business growth.
Key Accountabilities and Outputs
- Conduct business needs analysis by consulting with stakeholders. Elicit and document these requirements
- Plan solution at a high level to meet the requirements and needs of business, considering timelines, current systems, business processes, integrations and possible new hardware or software and anticipating any requirements that might not have been considered during initial consultation with business
- Consult with vendor / s to discuss scope of requirements, costing and availability timelines for development, implementation or enhancement
- Test development, enhancement or implementation in a test environment, this might included development testing as well as user acceptance testing and requires attention to detail and consideration of other impacting systems or processes
- Improve or adjust approach if need be until business requirement is successfully met through the solution.
- Communicate any substantial updates, changes or adjustments with the business function
- Lead, direct and drive the development teams to success through value added progress updates and meetings
- Compile training material. It might also be required to train the end user or facilitate such training when done by the functional team. This training can include travelling to different regions to ensure user acceptance of change
- Plan deployment of solution by consulting business stakeholders on any business impact in deployment such as system downtime required, month end, financial year end etc.
- After go-live support. This includes day to day business support and application management
- Maintain and enhance new and existing systems, processes and applications. This requires forward thinking and uncovering areas of improvement
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelors Degree (3 years) / NQF level 7 (Essential)5+ Years experience in similar positionFinancial acumen
Experience Master data managementProficient in Microsoft Office 365Experience in Project ManagementExperience in delivering strategic business solutionsExperience in SAP S4 Hana (Operational functionalities) (Essential)Experience in warehouse management systems, transport management systems, customer relationship management system, electronic document integration and optical character recognition principles will be beneficialExperience in FMCG beneficialKey Qualities
