An established company based in Ottery is looking to appoint a Warehouse Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Proactively seeks out new opportunities to reduce warehousing costs.
- Effectively manages raw material, finished goods and consignment stock.
- Conducts monthly stock take to ensure stock levels remain at optimum levels.
- Implement 5s and GMP systems.
- Identifies and implements practical, user-friendly systems to assist with OTIF deliveries and stock control.
- Tenaciously follows through on opportunities to improve how to store and distribute to customers.
- Collaborate effectively as part of a team to deliver customer commitments.
- Evaluates and reports on progress against targets and provides solutions to problems or obstacles that may arise.
- Plans and organizes the smooth integration between production and distribution.
- Manages a team of logistics and warehouse staff.
Role Requirements :
Education & Qualifications
Holds a degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Industrial Engineering.Demonstrates a proven track record of at least five years in warehousing / stock control including at least two years in a management role.Technical Skills
Demonstrates strong systems aptitude and ability to think on their feet.Utilises advanced computer literacy, including Excel (pivot tables and advanced features).Manages export and import containerised loading and destuffing, adhering to internationally accepted shipping criteriaExperience in working with and optimising ERP systems, preferably Syspro, to extract information and improve stock management and customer delivery turnaround time.Experience in optimising warehouse layout to reduce wasteful movement of stock and establish stock kanban systems.Experienced in warehousing in a GMP-controlled environment (food / product safety) will be an advantage.Demonstrates strong numeracy skills for accurate working-capital management and stock control.Management & Leadership
