Overview :

We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Field Guide to join a luxury safari lodge team. The ideal candidate will have a deep respect for nature, excellent guiding skills, and the ability to deliver unforgettable experiences to guests through informative and engaging game drives and bush walks.

Key Responsibilities :

• Conduct morning and afternoon game drives, as well as bush walks, providing guests with an authentic and educational safari experience.
• Share in-depth knowledge of wildlife, flora, fauna, and ecosystems in an engaging and professional manner.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of guests at all times while in the field.
• Maintain game drive vehicles and equipment in excellent working order.
• Assist with conservation and reserve management initiatives where required.
• Support lodge operations by interacting with guests in a friendly, professional manner outside of activities.
• Adhere to all reserve and lodge rules, health, and safety regulations.

Requirements : Nature Site Guide qualification (NQF2). Current PDP (Professional Driving Permit). Valid First Aid certificate. Rifle handling proficiency (ARH) and DEAT registration advantageous. Previous experience as a field guide in a Big 5 reserve is highly preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with guests of diverse backgrounds. Commitment to conservation and sustainable tourism practices.
