Product Designer

JHiring : Product Designer (Cape Town and Johannesburg)

What You’ll Do

Take full ownership of UX / UI design across mobile and web platforms

Translate user needs and product strategy into wireframes, prototypes, and final high-fidelity designs

Create and maintain a scalable design system and ensure consistency across the product

Work closely with Product Owners and Engineers throughout the build process to ensure high-quality implementation

Run user research, usability testing, and post-launch evaluations to inform and refine design choices

Use best practices and competitor analysis to solve complex design challenges efficiently

Collaborate with external design resources and gradually build and mentor an internal team

Contribute to shaping the overall product experience and long-term design vision

What We’re Looking For

3+ years’ experience in UX / UI, product, or interaction design

A portfolio that demonstrates clean user flows, polished UI, and thoughtful design decisions

Fluency in Figma and experience creating responsive, developer-friendly designs

Strong grasp of user-centered design principles and methodologies

Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in fast-paced teams

A startup mindset—proactive, adaptable, and unafraid of rapid iteration

(Bonus) Experience designing fintech, SaaS, or data-driven platforms
