Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • No two days will be the same! Youll gain hands-on experience across a wide range of accounting and finance projects, helping entrepreneurs and SMEs get their businesses financially fit and future-ready.
  • Your typical day might include :
  • Handling general bookkeeping ensuring clients financial records accurate and up to date.
  • Rolling up your sleeves to sort out and "clean up" financials that need structure and clarity.
  • Analysing financial data to uncover insights supporting team in providing clarity.
  • Assisting in the preparation of management reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Getting involved in financial modelling to support planning and business growth.
  • Helping implement financial processes and SOPs that set clients up for long-term success.
  • Working directly with a dynamic team and learning how financial strategy drives real-world results.

What youll need to succeed :

  • A BCom degree (Accounting-focused or Business degree with Accounting as a major).
  • Strong Excel skills comfortable using it for analysis, reconciliations, reporting, and insights.
  • Experience with Xero (or another ERP / accounting system) would be an advantage.
  • Exposure to or involvement in preparing management reports and financial analysis.
  • A keen learner whos not afraid to jump in, take initiative, and do what it takes to get the job done whether thats solving a financial puzzle or running out to grab coffee for the team!
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and resilient, with the ability to juggle multiple projects across different clients.
  • A curious thinker who enjoys problem-solving and finding smarter ways to do things.
  • A team player with a positive, engaging personality able to communicate clearly and confidently with colleagues and clients.

    • Qualifications & Experience

  • Matric qualification
  • Bachelor degree with Financial Accounting as a major - essential
  • B. Com (Hon) degree - advantageous
  • Three (3) Year Articles for Chartered Accountants - advantageous
  • Masters in Business Management / Leadership - advantageous
  • Financial Accounting and reporting - 5 years (essential)
  • Management Accounting - 5 years (essential)
  • General Management - 5 years (essential)
  • People Management - 5 years (essential)
  • Cash Management - 3 years (essential)

  • IFRS / IAS - Advanced
  • Managing Working Capital - Intermediate to Advanced
  • PFMA basics
  • Accounting / Financial skills - Advanced
  • Auditing, Corporate Governance, Business Knowledge, Reporting
  • Microsoft Office - Basic to Advanced
  • People and General Management - Advanced

    Job 2A : Financial Accounting / Group - General postings

  • Job duties include general ledger review, cash management, month-end close, budgeting, reporting, and contract / audit support.
  • Experience with IFRS / IAS and SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
  • Qualifications typically include BCom / CA or equivalent; articles and / or MBA / MA advantageous.

    • Job 2B : Rhodes University Faculty / Department postings

  • CA(SA) in good standing; teaching and research credentials desirable.
  • Masters preferred; focus on accounting, taxation; SAICA accreditation advantageous.

    • Job 3 : EY IFRS Advisory Specialist (MENA) – Senior Manager level

    Location : Riyadh (EY Global)

    What we look for

  • At least 8 years IFRS accounting advisory experience (including at least 3 years as Senior Manager) at a Big 4
  • Current or previous IFRS desk role for at least 1 year
  • CA / CPA / ACCA certification
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
  • Ability to research accounting issues and provide high-quality IFRS advice

    Coordinate, review and implement financial accounting systems in line with legislation and departmental policies.

    Minimum Requirements

  • 3-year B-Degree in Financial Accounting or related
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in financial accounting

  • Revenue collection, reporting, balance sheet integrity, supervision
  • Experience in financial accounting / mgmt accounting beneficial
