Role Purpose
Join Lactalis at our Bonnievale Plant in the Process department with the main responsibilities includes analysing production results on a continuous basis with the aim to meet or better the goals on quality, volume, productivity, OEE and seconds per kilogram. Ensure departmental goals and focus points are known to your team through daily and monthly meetings. Successful candidates need to have at least 5 years’ relevant experience in the dairy industry environment and at least 3 years experience in a supervisory role. Must have an NQF5 Manufacturing Management diploma. Be fluent in English and be computer literate.

Duties and Responsibilities
Complete and analyse daily technical data sheets; identify trends for action.Manage overall line production, planning, and people management.Set up daily and weekly shift patterns for staff.Drive action plans, monitor completion dates, and ensure targets are met (Quality, Safety, Sec / kg, Volume).Conduct weekly and monthly safety inspections; take immediate corrective action and stop unsafe equipment.Perform detailed weekly and monthly quality inspections, address risks to product or environment.Participate in daily sensory evaluations; block non-standard products.Monitor product texture and taste on all production lines.Check critical quality control points (e.g., dud detectors, sanitizing sprayers, chlorine ppm, pH, temperatures).Ensure proper PPE usage; order replacements when needed.Conduct foreign body inspections weekly; report critical objects (blades, needles, glass).Monitor Pragma weekly for outstanding or missing job cards.Inspect racks for safety and rust; ensure demarcation visibility.Perform daily door inspections for proper closure and operation.Monitor cleaning equipment condition and storage; ensure sufficient cleaning tools are available.Monitor bulk chemicals (acid dilution, leaks, cleanliness).Keep chemical room clean, organised, and locked at all times.Maintain waste area in an organized and clean state.Ensure lugs are in correct holders with proper labeling.Participate in daily and weekly stock counts; manage yields.Monitor raw material traceability and proper demarcation.Check recipes for compliance with specifications.Verify garlic and lemon juice specs daily.Handle HR-related hearings and queries.Monitor MBU updates with detailed reporting.Enforce hygiene rules (e.g., no plant shoes / jackets outside).Keep secondary packing areas neat and organized.Maintain chiller room cleanliness; remove expired / rejected stock.Adhere to quality and food safety standards as stated in SOPs.Report dangerous situations and generate job cards.Report all near misses and incidents promptly.Seniority level
