Service Technician – Welkom

Job descriptionAchieve company KPIs professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction. Repair, service, and assemble equipment to quality standards, on time and within budget. Resolve technical issues in the field and workshops, collaborating with manufacturers. Implement product updates and improvements as instructed by manufacturers. Maintain accurate timesheets and travel logs. Post completed jobs on Tom Tom and submit daily time sheets, travel logs, and job cards via the Magnitude App or manual process. Identify and document any damage or abuse on machines, including taking photos and diagnosing root causes. Keep tools and vehicle tidy and present oneself professionally. Report unsafe driving or machine abuse immediately. Comply with OSHACT requirements on-site. Participate in performance reviews and maintain a balanced scorecard. Adhere to health, safety, environmental, and company policies. Follow the company code of conduct. Follow risk management policies to protect assets and personnel. Submit claims and standby forms by the 5th of each month. Complete and submit quote request forms daily. Update load tests, service stickers, and record battery voltages, serial numbers, and wear percentages on job cards. Send photos to the Service Controller / Contract Managers showing load test dates, stickers, and any issues or abuse. Manage parts received and returned, signing relevant documentation and attaching it to job cards. Check van stock monthly for 100% accuracy.
Role Purpose :
To be part of a successful workshop or field service team that services, maintains, and repairs contract or customer equipment to the highest levels of workmanship and quality. The role involves providing service excellence to all internal and external customers, working within company policies to minimize servicing and repair costs, and ensuring high levels of machine uptime.
Experience and Minimum Requirements :
- Grade 12 qualification, including Math and Science.
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience in meeting monthly deadlines.
