Mine Manager - 3.1 Legal Appointee

Description / Synopsis :

Our Client, specialists within the coal mining sector, is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Mine Manager to manage and oversee all aspects of mining operations in Witbank / Middelburg. The ideal candidate will be accountable for ensuring efficient, safe, and compliant production processes while optimizing resources and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirements :

• Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science.
• Valid Blasting Certificate.
• Relevant Mining Qualification / Degree / Diploma.
• At least 7 years of coal mining production experience.
• Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
• Computer literacy.
• Valid EB (or equivalent) driver’s license.

Main Responsibilities :

Lead operational management of mining processes to meet production goals.

Ensure full compliance with HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) standards and all legal requirements, including those stipulated under Legal Appointment responsibilities.

Manage budgets, costs, and resource allocation efficiently.

Maintain high standards of housekeeping across all operational areas.

Provide effective leadership, employee management, and enforce discipline within the team.

Oversee accurate and timely reporting and administration.

Enforce adherence to maintenance schedules and programs.

Monitor and manage contractor performance according to company standards.
