Purpose of the Role
The Retail Manager plans and directs the day-to-day operations of the Branch. Develops strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, increase profitability, create store policies and marketing programs that will increase sales and grow the existing customer base. Maintain high store standards and conditions and foster a positive environment.Ensure customer needs are met, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient. Ensure all products and displays are merchandised effectively to maximize sales and profitability. Forecast staffing needs and develop a recruiting strategy to provide optimal staffing in all areas.Key performance areas :
Manage retail staff, among which includes people working on the floor, and the cashiersMeet financial goals by analysing variances, initiating corrective actions, formulating pricing policies and scheduling expendituresMake sure pricing is correctWork on store displaysAttend trade shows in order to identify new services and productsRecruit, Coach, counsel, discipline, and train employeesEvaluate self-on-the-job performance, as well as other staffIdentify market trends that appeal to customersEnsure products are clean and ready to be displayedApprove contracts with store vendorsMaintain inventory and ensure items are in stockEnsure promotions are accurate and in tune with company’s standardsUtilize computers to record sales figures, for data analysis and forward planningMake sure that health and safety measures are metMaintain health and safety measures and store’s cleanliness
Organize and distribute staff schedulesPreside over staff meetingsHelp, drive, motivate, and encourage retail sales staff to achieve sales targetsHandle customer complaints, issues and questionsRequirements
Minimum 5 years managing a retail store, preference will be given to candidates with electrical knowledge and experience and experience in a similar work environment.Qualification in Business Administration, Retail Management or similar will be advantageousExperience in Accpacc or similar computer packages will be advantageousKey Skills and Competencies
