SUMMARY :
The Curio Sales role is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service while driving retail sales within the curio shop. The position focuses on sales performance, stock control, merchandise presentation, and accurate cash handling, contributing to a positive guest experience in a hospitality environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Provide professional, friendly, and engaging service to all guests and visitors
Actively promote and sell curio, gift, and retail merchandise
Maximise sales opportunities through product knowledge and upselling
Ensure high standards of merchandise display and visual presentation
Operate point-of-sale systems and handle cash and card transactions accurately
Complete daily cash-ups and maintain accurate sales records
Manage stock receiving, pricing, stock rotation, and inventory control
Conduct regular stock counts and report variances
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the curio shop at all times
Handle guest queries, requests, and complaints professionally
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and hospitality standards
Support operational requirements during peak periods when required
POSITION INFO :
Requirements and Qualifications
Grade 12 (Matric) – essential
Previous experience in retail sales or hospitality preferred
Experience in a curio shop, boutique, or lodge environment advantageous
Basic computer literacy and point-of-sale system experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Sales-driven, honest, and reliable
Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
