Responsibilities
- Deliver regionally or business unit–specific tailored learning and development solutions aligned with the business strategy.
- Identify capability gaps, design and facilitate learning interventions, and collaborate with the central L&D practice team to ensure delivery excellence within a decentralised structure.
- Enable a strong culture of continuous learning while ensuring alignment with national standards and frameworks.
- Partner with the Lead HRBP and BU / Regional Leadership to understand strategic priorities, workforce challenges and future capability needs, and translate insights into actionable L&D plans that support performance and growth.
- Conduct Learning Needs Analyses (LNA) by engaging with line managers, store leadership and function heads to identify performance gaps and upskilling opportunities; use performance data and operational metrics to develop relevant interventions.
- Design and deliver targeted learning solutions addressing regional skill gaps (e.g., frontline service delivery, product knowledge, compliance training, leadership development) with varied delivery methods (face-to-face, e-learning, on-the-job coaching).
- Act as the regional anchor for group-wide L&D initiatives, ensuring consistent implementation while localising content for culture, language and store dynamics; coordinate launch plans and change management communications.
- Monitor learning effectiveness and engagement through reporting; track participation, completion and learner feedback, conduct observations and adjust as needed.
- Conduct gap analyses on learning tools (Workday, online platforms) and report on actual vs. target participation and effectiveness; maintain monthly Regional Learning Dashboards and reports.
- Ensure Skills Development Compliance by tracking training records, learner portfolios and progress aligned with the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR); manage SETA-aligned processes and external provider partnerships and learnership tracking.
- Continuously improve learning practices and contribute case studies, pilot results and best practices to the L&D Centre of Excellence; collaborate with the Employee Experience team to implement functional learning projects and act as a change agent to improve outcomes.
