Company and Job Description
As a Business Development Manager , you’ll be responsible for managing and expanding a portfolio of Independent Financial Advisors (IFAs), driving retail investment inflows, and delivering on a strategic investment distribution plan. You’ll work closely with intermediaries to provide expert support, training, and insights across a range of investment solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of specialised investment intermediaries.
 - Source and onboard new intermediaries to expand market reach.
 - Retain and grow existing investment business across local, international, structured, and guaranteed products.
 - Achieve monthly and annual sales targets through proactive portfolio management.
 - Build and maintain strong relationships with intermediaries, broker networks, and independent financial advisors.
 - Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery and support.
 - Implement a structured intermediary support model to enhance engagement and efficiency.
 - Educate intermediaries and their support staff on investment products, platforms, and digital tools.
 - Facilitate training sessions to promote the use of digital systems and enhance product knowledge.
 - Identify and address intermediary needs related to technical support, reporting, and business development.
 - Drive participation in investment campaigns and product launches.
 - Deliver presentations and support product implementation initiatives.
 - Provide accurate and timely information on products, funds, and services to intermediaries.
 - Ensure all intermediary activities comply with relevant regulations (FAIS, FICA, POPIA).
 - Maintain accurate records and adhere to internal compliance standards.
 - Coordinate with internal teams to maintain service level agreements (SLAs).
 - Act as a liaison between intermediaries and product / service providers to resolve issues and enhance service delivery.
 
Job Experience and Skills Required
Relevant financial / investment qualification (Honours level preferred)Certified Financial Planner (CFP)FAIS exam advantageousMinimum 5 years in financial distribution (LISP or investment management experience preferred)Proven success in intermediary development and salesStrong technical knowledge of retail investmentsValid driver’s license and own reliable vehicleKey CompetenciesClient-centric with strong relationship-building skillsResilient, results-driven, and collaborativeExcellent communication and presentation abilitiesEntrepreneurial mindset with problem-solving capabilitiesConfident, persuasive, and self-motivatedApply now!
