PURPOSE OF ROLE
To ensure the efficient and safe transportation of personnel, documents, equipment, and supplies across various company sites, contributing to the smooth daily operations of the Facilities Department. The Facilities Driver is responsible for maintaining the company vehicle in a roadworthy condition, adhering to traffic and safety regulations, and assisting with basic facilities support tasks when not driving.The driver serves as a key support role in ensuring timely deliveries, inter-office mobility, and coordination between Head Office and various site offices including Koeberg, ATKSS, all site offices, and Atlantis PV Solar Plant.KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Safe Transportation
Transport personnel, equipment, and documents between locations safelyAdhere strictly to road safety laws and traffic regulationsMaintain zero preventable accidents and traffic violationsTimely Deliveries & Pickups
Follow daily transport schedules and coordinate delivery timesEnsure no late deliveries and minimize client complaintsPlan efficient routes and manage time effectivelyVehicle Maintenance & Safety
Perform daily pre-trip vehicle inspectionsReport vehicle faults or damage immediatelyEnsure vehicles are always clean and roadworthyCoordinate timely servicing and license renewalsFacilities Support
Assist with minor facilities duties when not driving (moving equipment, setting up rooms, etc.)Provide quick response to ad hoc tasks as requiredSupport team objectives and maintain positive working relationshipsRecord Keeping
Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks including mileage, fuel usage, and service datesMonitor and ensure all logbooks are completed by all driversSubmit trip reports and maintain complete documentationProfessional Conduct
Represent the company professionally when dealing with external partiesUphold company values in all interactionsMaintain professional appearance and adhere to dress codeQUALIFICATION
Matric / NQF Level 4Valid Driver's License (Code 08 or higher)Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)EXPERIENCE
2-3 years' experience in a similar role (transport / logistics or facilities support)Familiarity with office and site environmentsCOMPETENCIES
Knowledge
Road safety regulations and defensive driving techniquesFamiliarity with office and site logistics operationsBasic record-keeping procedures (trip sheets, fuel logs)Knowledge of relevant delivery protocols including document signing and secure transportBasic understanding of vehicle maintenance requirementsSkills
