Purpose of the Role
As a Junior Industrial Designer, you will support the design team in the development of new and innovative products that reflect the brand. You will assist in concept development, 3D modelling, prototyping, and preparing production-ready files for manufacturing. Key Responsibilities
Design & Product Development
- Assist in the research, concept creation, and design of new homeware and lifestyle products
- Produce high-quality 2D sketches and detailed 3D CAD models
- Support the team in developing designs from concept to final product, including prototyping and testing
- Prepare technical drawings and specifications for production
- Collaborate with in-house and external manufacturing teams to refine and finalise products
- Participate in design reviews, product presentations, and brainstorming sessions
Trend & Material Research
Stay up to date with global design trends, materials, and technologies relevant to the homeware and lifestyle sectorsAssist with mood boards, material sourcing, and seasonal design reportsBrand & Aesthetic Alignment
Ensure all designs align with the design language , brand values, and quality standardsHelp maintain the integrity of the brand’s sculptural and functional art identity across product rangesRequirements
A relevant tertiary qualification in Industrial Design or Product Design1–3 years of experience in a design role (internships included)Proficiency in 3D modelling software (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360)Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)Good hand-sketching and concept visualisation skillsBasic knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials (especially metals, ceramics, resin, etc.)Attention to detail, creative flair, and problem-solving abilityA strong portfolio showcasing relevant product and concept design workExcellent communication and time-management skillsPassion for design and a strong interest in art-meets-function products
