Job description

Duties & Responsibilities

Procurement & Supply Chain Management

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies and departmental policies.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to ensure cost-effective pricing, high quality, and timely delivery.
  • Maintain up-to-date and compliant supplier contracts and agreements.
  • Conduct risk management on procurement activities and supplier performance.
  • Oversee customs, freight forwarding, and import / export logistics.
  • Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Identify and drive cost-saving initiatives across the supply chain.

Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Collaborate with sales, production, design, and purchasing teams to align forecasts and production schedules.
  • Maintain and update the master production schedule based on demand and material availability.
  • Analyze sales orders against inventory and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Plan replenishment and ensure adequate stock for high-demand items.
  • Integrate sales orders with production plans to meet customer delivery deadlines.
  • Inventory & Materials Management

  • Monitor and report on inventory levels, stock accuracy, and wastage.
  • Coordinate stock counts and ensure accuracy of physical inventory.
  • Implement effective material planning and sourcing processes.
  • Report on inventory movement and material requirements during production meetings.
  • Stakeholder & Customer Management

  • Act as liaison between procurement, sales, and production departments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with customs and bond store regulations.
  • Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead departmental KPIs and performance analysis.
  • Develop and present supply chain and forecasting reports.
  • Drive continuous improvement within procurement and planning functions.
  • Identify training needs and ensure development of team members.
  • Qualifications & Experience

  • National Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Project Management.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, or planning.
  • At least 4 years in a management role.
  • Strong background in material and demand planning, sourcing, and supplier management.
  • Knowledge of customs, import / export, and freight forwarding.
  • Advanced MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with ERP systems (Pastel, Omni Accounts, or similar).
  • Sound understanding of ISO 9001 and Health & Safety compliance requirements.
