Software Support Engineer L2
Are you an experienced Software Support Engineer L2 with deep expertise in Azure services and a passion for leading technical teams?
Join the team to become a critical resource, providing advanced (3rd & 4th level) software support for our global Ctrack software portfolio. This role requires a strong problem-solver who can navigate complex systems, mentor junior engineers, and drive process innovation.

What You Will Be Doing
- Advanced Troubleshooting : Provide 3rd and 4th level technical support for all Ctrack software packages to customers and international distributors.
- Azure Root Cause Analysis : Utilize deep knowledge of Azure services (including Azure DevOps, Azure Functions, and blob storage) to identify and resolve root causes of complex software issues using diagnostic tools and logs.
- API & Backend Expertise : Assist clients with API-related issues on both frontend and backend. Write and troubleshoot queries using Postman , and work with technologies like Cosmos DB and PostgreSQL .
- Leadership & Mentorship : Lead, mentor, and train junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing support environment.
- Documentation & Knowledge : Create clear, actionable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for issue resolution. Manage and maintain the team's knowledge base and Wiki.
- Process Improvement : Proactively design and implement new support tools and processes to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Product Feedback : Identify product issues and gather user feedback to propose future product enhancements and innovations.
What You Will Bring (Qualifications & Skills) Required
Education : Grade 12 / Matric with NQF 7 qualification (e.g., relevant Degree / Diploma).Experience :Minimum 5+ years in Software Backend Support or Development.Minimum 3+ years of experience with Azure and DevOps .Certifications & Technical Knowledge :Microsoft SQL Certification.Strong knowledge of Windows Server Maintenance .Proficiency in writing queries in Postman and understanding JSON file writing .A strong systems engineering approach to problem-solving.Highly Advantageous
BEng Computer Engineering or similar degree.Certifications such as : Microsoft Certified : Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900), Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), Azure Cosmos DB Developer (DP-420), or Azure Database Administrator Associate.Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making abilities.Behavioral Competencies
