Job descriptionHigh school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 2 years of experience working with refrigeration and air conditioning systems, preferably in a marine environment Knowledge of HVAC systems and principles Familiarity with refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, including compressors, evaporators, and condensers Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Good communication and teamwork skills Willingness to work long hours and be on call as needed Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects Valid certifications and licenses as required by the company and relevant authorities
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist the Chief Refrigerator Engineer in maintaining and repairing all refrigeration and air conditioning systems On Board Cruise Ship
- Perform routine maintenance on refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting parts
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with refrigeration and air conditioning systems
- Repair or replace defective parts as needed
- Assist with the installation of new equipment and ensure it is properly connected and functioning
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed
- Train other crew members on proper operation and maintenance procedures for refrigeration and air conditioning systems
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations while working onboard the vessel
- Keep inventory of spare parts and supplies and ensure they are properly stored and maintained
- Communicate any issues or concerns to the Chief Refrigerator Engineer and work together to find solutions
