Role Overview
As a Junior Industrial Engineer, you will assist in improving processes across hardware manufacturing, installation, and field support. In this role you will :
- Analyze and streamline manufacturing and operational workflows for our on-board devices and IoT-platform.
- Support production planning, inventory optimization, and layout design for production and logistics operations.
- Collaborate with engineering, firmware, product, and field teams to understand technical and operational requirements.
- Collect and analyze performance data—production throughput, installation times, equipment uptime.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and KPIs to track efficiency, yield, and quality.
- Apply continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) to drive enhancements.
- Assist with vendor evaluation and procurement to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Support cost modeling and ROI analyses for automation or process improvement initiatives.
- Document SOPs and train field technicians on improved workflows and quality expectations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.0–2 years of experience in manufacturing, logistics, field engineering, or similar environments.Basic understanding of Lean and Six Sigma principles.Strong analytical skills, proficient in Excel. Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or Minitab is a plus.Exposure to CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is advantageous.Good communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working with cross-functional teams and on-site technicians.Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn.Willingness to travel to installation and client sites across South Africa / Africa as required.What You’ll Gain
