GENERAL MANAGER
Minimum skills and experience required :
- Matric (Grade 12) required, further studies in Retail, Business, or Management beneficial
- Minimum 3 years in a managerial role within retail, fuel, hardware, or a related environment
- Strong leadership, financial acumen, and operational management experience
- Solid knowledge of stock control, sales processes, and POS systems
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
- High levels of integrity, professionalism, and accountability
Duties and Responsibilities :
Operations Management
Oversee day-to-day operations for both the fuel station and hardware storeEnsure both sites remain clean, well-maintained, and fully operationalManage opening and closing procedures and optimise workflow across all areasIntroduce and maintain operational systems that improve efficiency and service qualityStaff Leadership
Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate all staffManage staff schedules, attendance, and labour planningBuild a positive, productive working environmentConduct performance reviews, coaching, and disciplinary actions when requiredFinancial Oversight
Manage cash-ups, daily banking, stock variances, and till reconciliationsMonitor expenses, reduce shrinkage, and drive profitabilityApprove purchasing and manage supplier relations for both business unitsStock and Inventory Control
Oversee inventory levels and manage replenishmentConduct regular stock takes and investigate discrepanciesEnsure correct pricing, stock rotation, and loss control measures are in placeCustomer Service
Maintain excellent customer service standardsAddress customer issues promptly and professionallyBuild strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and community stakeholdersCompliance and Safety
