PRODUCTION AND OPERATIONS EXECUTIVE :

Based at :   KZN North Coast

Reporting to :    CEO / Managing Director

Position Overview :

The production and operations executive will ensure that daily manufacturing activities of products are made efficiently, meet quality standards and stay on schedule.

Role Responsibilities and Key Activities :

Production & Operations :

  • Planning department

Management of Logistics & transporters

  • Overseeing BOM’s
  • Develop and Improve Production Planning system
  • Involved in the Production Planning on a daily basis
  • Assessing the Sales Report daily
  • Mentoring / Leading staff
  • Assisting with all related customer & sale Rep concerns
  • Production Facilities
  • Leading / Mentoring senior production Managers

  • Implementing Production / Lean Manufacturing Good practices
  • Design and re-design production layouts & processes
  • Managing production related issues
  • Assisting with customer queries and new designs
  • Developing of the team
  • Assessing all relevant administrative reports from the production departments & stores
  • Assist with Block planning and Block distribution to all departments
  • Manage and deal with all HR related situations
  • Managing staff compliments during all seasons of the business
  • Managing all Relevant RAW materials for production
  • Sign off orders
  • Credit notes sign off
  • Manage all Quality issues with the team
  • Technical input

  • Possible solutions / Sourcing solutions
  • Preventative measures

  • Stock Take
  • Arranging stock take days with Team

  • Physically involved with Stock Take process
  • Re-designing the process for stock take as needed in collaboration with Finance executive
  • Managing the stock take process
  • Health & Safety
  • Manage all relevant H&S processes and systems in conjunction with HR Executive

  • Manage ASIB inspections as well as ensuring that we are ASIB approved
  • Deal with Ithala related to all ASIB, H&S and building requirements
  • Involved with all relevant training on Fire, First Aid training
  • Ensuring that all requirements from the company appointed Insurers are adhered to
  • Looking at future and possible risk
  • Maintenance
  • Manage & develop all maintenance related projects in conjunction with the team

  • Monitoring & signing off of all maintenance related purchases for daily maintenance and projects
  • Meeting daily with the Maintenance manager to discuss project progress as well as general maintenance
  • Developing and Mentoring the Maintenance Team
  • Managing the team and their related projects with the involvement of the maintenance manager
  • HR
  • Developing a good and open communication channel with all staff

  • Assisting staff in all HR related situations in conjunction with HR Executive
  • Chairing Disciplinarians when needed.
  • Security
  • Manage all related security issues from Neveon side with IGS

  • Communicate directly with IGS on any and all related security issues
  • Arranging of polygraph testing & assisting in investigations and cross examinations
  • Staying in communication with relevant groups and SAPS contacts in the event of situations
  • Projects
  • Design of projects

  • All project related planning & Timelines
  • Sourcing suppliers and Contractors
  • Obtaining quotes
  • Project managing of projects
  • Looking at cost saving for projects
  • Obtaining info from peers as well as experts
  • Miscellaneous
  • Getting involved and obtaining skills to teach others

    Embroidery machine

  • Assisting in new product development – Technical aspect
  • Assisting Admin, HR, Production & Sales on miscellaneous items
  • Cape Town Production
  • Managing and assisting Cape Town Production Team in Production & Projects

    Qualifications :

  • Matric, B.Comm, Engineer – Industrial Management or similar
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel / Word / Pastel
  • Experience :

  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
  • 5-10 year experiences
  • Experience in production and operations
  • Skills / Attributes / Knowledge :

  • Good communication skills.
  • Planning and control.
  • Self-motivation.
  • Managing the customer relationship.
