Nova Pioneer is looking for an experienced English and Mathematics Teacher to teach at our Ruimsig Primary School. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic teacher to empower students using an enquiry-based learning approach and to be part of an innovative network of schools developing generations of innovators and leaders who will shape the African Century.

About the Role

We are looking for an exceptional English and Maths Specialist to start in January 2026. Teachers lead instruction and planning for subject- or grade-level classrooms and are responsible for driving a rigorous, enquiry-based learning environment the Nova Pioneer way. Resident Teachers are supported by Deans of Instruction who partner with them to observe lessons, provide feedback and coaching, and mentor Apprentice Teachers.

Key responsibilities :

• Work closely with learning designers to design impactful lessons
• Design and deliver engaging enquiry-based lessons supported by technology
• Observe, coach and model for Apprentice Teachers
• Infuse joy and passion for learning to engage students in academic excellence
• Set rigorous goals for all students and provide feedback for improvement
• Assess student progress and use data to adjust instructional content and delivery
• Attend weekly feedback meetings with Deans and learning designers
• Participate in professional growth opportunities including daily team meetings, weekly PD, coaching, and cross-school learning
• Communicate with parents via email, phone, and parent-teacher conferences
• Contribute to co-curricular programming for at least one activity per term
• Participate in collaborative teams and committees and fulfill supervision duties as assigned (some morning, evening, and weekend events)
