Job descriptionDiploma in General Nursing. M&S : OPERATING THEATRE NURSING required Post-registration experience preferred. Previous experience in a private hospital environment advantageous. Computer proficiency. Perform all duties in accordance with South African Nursing Council (SANC), Department of Health (DOH) and National Core Standards. Supervise, organize, lead and control work for self and team to ensure efficient completion of tasks Devise a working knowledge of, and understand the Nursing Strategy, in order to contribute towards unit goals Document patient care services by accurately charting inpatient and department records including updating care plans as patient needs changes. Maintain accurate files and records of patient medication, incidents and complaints and steps taken to resolve patient problems or prevent incidents from recurring. Conduct structured ward rounds including accompanying Doctors and other Medical Practitioners for creating and evaluating customized care plans including implementing Doctors instructions and prescriptions. Monitor activities of nurses to ensure compliance with protocols, security, safety of patient environment, Group Nursing policies and procedures, SANC requirements and act on findings through regular unit rounds. Provide first line assessment at the bedside with regards to aspects of medical technology including ventilators, renal replacement therapy equipment, physiological measurement monitors and the like. Set up and provide a renal replacement therapy service within the unit including the setting up of equipment and contributing to patient care programs. Managing and supporting the introduction of new critical care technologies into the unit. Diploma in General Nursing BLS / PALS Diploma in Midwifery Post graduate diploma qualification in child nursing science added advantage 3+ years\' Experienced in Paediatric nursing Experience within a private hospital environment advantageous. Perform all duties in accordance with South African Nursing Council (SANC), Department of Health (DOH) and National Core Standards. Adhere to the principles and standards of Patient Advocacy according to SANC Acts and Omissions, Company Code of Conduct, Patient Rights and Responsibilities Charter, National Millennium Development goals and responsibility of Continuous Professional Development (CPD). Supervise, organize, lead and control work for self and team to ensure efficient completion of tasks. Devise a working knowledge of, and understand the Nursing Strategy, in order to contribute towards unit goals. Provide round the clock care to premature and severely ill new-born infants. Perform essential medical procedures, such as inserting intravenous lines, running tests and administer medication to ill infants and children and administer medication following age-appropriate guidelines Remain up to date on the latest developments, rules and regulations therapeutics and medication and treatment procedures of children Actively participate in internal and external auditing processes, for example DOH, National Core Standards, SHERQ, SANC and Risk Audits. Document patient care services by accurately charting inpatient and department records including updating care plans as patient needs changes. Maintain accurate files and records of patient medication, incidents, complaints, and steps taken to resolve patient problems or prevent incidents from recurring. Conduct structured ward rounds including accompanying Doctors and other Medical Practitioners for creating and evaluating customized care plans including implementing Doctors instructions and prescriptions. Monitor activities of nurses to ensure compliance with protocols, security, safety of patient environment, Group Nursing policies and procedures, SANC requirements and act on findings through regular unit rounds. Drive the reduction in healthcare associated infections. Participate actively during resuscitation, where necessary. Provide guidance and advice, whilst applying good clinical judgment, to other Nursing staff working in the paediatric setting and regarding the safe and effective use of paediatric care technologies Current registration with South African Nursing Council. Previous experience in a Theatre Recovery is essential. Previous experience in a private hospital environment advantageous. Computer proficiency advantageous. Perform nursing duties in accordance with the South African Nursing Council (SANC), Department of Health (DOH) and National Core standards. Adhere to the principles and standards of patient advocacy according to the SANC Acts and Omissions, Company Code of Conduct, Patient Rights and Responsibility Charter, Code of Conduct, Patient Rights and Responsibility Charter, National Millennium Development goals and the responsibility of continuous professional development (CPD). Supervise, organise, lead and control quality of care work for self and team adhering to therapeutic standards and goals. Actively participate in internal and external auditing processes, for example DOH, National Core Standards, SHERQ, SANC and Risk Audit. Document and maintain accurate files and records of patient medication and conduct ward rounds including accompanying Doctors and other Medical Practitioners for creating and evaluating customized care plans including implementing. Monitor activities of nurses to ensure compliance with protocols, security, and safety of patient environment, Group Nursing policies and procedures, SANC requirements on findings through regular unit rounds. Diploma in General Nursing ICU Trained (M&S Critical care nursing) ACLS Updated PALS / ATLS advantageous. BCur Current registration as Registered Nurse with the South African Nursing Council. 2-5 years' experience in ICU Perform all duties in accordance with South African Nursing Council (SANC), Department of Health (DOH) and National Core Standards. Adhere to the principles and standards of Patient Advocacy according to SANC Acts and Omissions, Company Code of Conduct, Patient Rights and Responsibilities Charter, National Millennium Development goals and responsibility of Continuous Professional Development (CPD). Supervise, organize, lead and control work for self and team to ensure efficient completion of tasks. Devise a working knowledge of, and understand the Nursing Strategy, in order to contribute towards unit goals. Lead the continuity of care through an accurate, comprehensive handover to related units like operating theatre and diagnostics Plan daily tasks for the Enrolled nurses, Ward Clerks and Enrolled Auxiliary Nurses to ensure an efficient and effective service delivery in area of accountability Document patient care services by accurately charting inpatient and department records including updating care plans as patient needs changes. Maintain accurate files and records of patient medication, incidents and complaints, and steps taken to resolve patient problems or prevent incidents from recurring. Conduct structured ward rounds including accompanying Doctors and other Medical Practitioners for creating and evaluating customized care plans including implementing Doctors instructions and prescriptions. Monitor activities of nurses to ensure compliance with protocols, security, safety of patient environment, Group Nursing policies and procedures, SANC requirements and act on findings through regular unit rounds.
