Repair and carry out inspections of all mechanical breakdowns and ensure minimum downtime.

Install new mechanical related equipment as and when required

Carry out preventative maintenance checks and identify faults on all related equipment and plant

Produce a full and detailed mechanical update of all mechanical plant and equipment monthly

Interpret results and establish a mechanical diagnosis

Communicate in English with management, staff members and customers in person and over the telephone

Adhere to the Mines and Works regulations regarding the winding operations

Work as part of a team or individually to deliver high quality standards consistently and accurately

Qualifications

A recognised apprenticeship- preferably on a gold mine.

Minimum NTC2 qualification from a registered institution

A recognised and valid mechanical qualification

Good reading, writing and intermediate mathematical skills

Previous work experience as a qualified mechanic who has served an apprenticeship recognised by the Department of labour.
