This role is critical in ensuring that the university’s networks, systems, and data are protected in compliance with regulatory and policy requirements, while also aligning with UofT’s risk posture and deep commitment to digital integrity, transparency, and human-centered innovation. The CISDTO will lead a broad portfolio that includes enterprise information security projects, identity and access management, application and infrastructure security, and incident response across UofT’s three campuses and remote sites. Beyond technical leadership, the CISDTO will champion a culture of digital trust by embedding privacy, safety, and accountability into the university’s digital ecosystem. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with exceptional communication and leadership skills, embodying an enterprise and service-oriented mindset. The CISDTO brings a deep understanding of cybersecurity, data governance, privacy regulations, and responsible technology use from a complex and ideally research-intensive organization.
