Data Management Lead

Are you passionate about shaping how organisations leverage data Were looking for a seasoned Data Management Lead to steer a growing data capability function and drive large-scale enterprise data transformation within complex SAP environments.

This role will champion end-to-end data migration governance and innovation initiatives particularly across SAP IS-U Real Estate and ECC-to-S/4HANA modernisation programmeswhile developing internal expertise and preparing clients for the digital future.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Data Leadership:
  
  • Define and execute the data strategy ensuring alignment with business priorities and enterprise transformation goals.
• Migration Governance and Innovation:
  
  • Oversee full-cycle SAP data migration programmes strengthen data governance frameworks and introduce modern approaches that elevate data quality and reliability.
• Capability Building and Mentorship:
  
  • Grow and mentor a high-performing data team cultivating technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Client Advisory and Engagement:
  
  • Guide clients through data readiness transformation decisions and best-practice adoption across SAP landscapes.
• Delivery Management:
  
  • Lead cross-functional delivery teams ensuring the successful execution of multi-workstream data initiatives within scope budget and timeline.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Bachelors Degree in Information Systems Computer Science Data Science or a related field
• SAP Activate Project Manager Certification
• SAP MDG Certification
• Knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK2 (or Certification)
• PMP or Agile/Scrum Master Certification
• Training in data architecture or ETL disciplines
• 15 years delivering SAP programmes including 5 years leading data migration and governance portfolios
• Proven experience across ECC and S/4HANA landscapes including Utilities (IS-U) Real Estate (RE-FX) Retail and the Public Sector
• Strong technical background with tools such as SAP Data Services LSMW LTMC Migration Cockpit ALE ABAP SQL and cloud-hosted platforms
• End-to-end project experience across major SAP modules (FI CO MM SD HCM CRM PM RE-FX and IS-U)
• Leadership experience across multi-country environments in Africa
• Demonstrated success in building and guiding high-performance data teams
