Head of Projects (HVAC) (VRV / DX) - (PERMANENT)

Job descriptionAccurately price tenders and quotes, including labour, materials, and subcontractor costs. Own the P&L for the Projects division, with clear focus on cost control, cash flow, and margin. Manage project budgets, progress claims, variations, and final accounts. Implement project management best practices and enforce adherence to timelines and deliverables. Conduct regular project reviews, manage risks, and troubleshoot site challenges. Ensure seamless coordination with internal departments (procurement, design, service, etc.) and external stakeholders (consultants, clients, subcontractors). Minimum 10 years' experience in HVAC industry, with at least 5 years in a senior project role. Proven experience delivering VRV / VRF and DX projects in commercial environments. Strong track record in project pricing, commercial management, and P&L ownership. Excellent knowledge of SANS codes, installation best practices, and OEM requirements. Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification (Diploma or Degree). Exposure to chilled water systems, BMS, or ventilation projects is an advantage. Experience in construction / contracting environments with strong documentation and reporting. Strong leadership and team management ability Commercial awareness and negotiation skills Excellent communication – verbal and written High attention to detail and strong technical acumen Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple fast-moving projects Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and project costing systems
