Overview
We are seeking a sales-driven Portfolio Manager to support agricultural business growth, generating leads, maximise profitability, build client relationships, and ensuring financial targets are consistently.
Responsibilities
- Support senior team members in driving business growth and profitability within the agriculture portfolio, focusing on client engagement and opportunity identification.
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients and / or suppliers, ensuring consistent business development.
- Conduct regular meetings with new and existing clients to understand their needs and promote tailored financial solutions.
- Build strong relationships to uncover additional business opportunities and promote complementary products and services across the Merchant West Group.
- Support financial assessments and contribute to structuring agreements that meet both client needs and company objectives.
- Ensure timely and efficient execution of new business transactions from initiation to closure, maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with clients to secure mutually beneficial agreements.
- Analyse agricultural market trends to identify emerging opportunities and inform strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
Matric requiredBCom degree with Agriculture and / or Finance as a subject(s) advantageousExperience
1-5 years of working experience1 year’s experience in a sales position within agriculture / farming operationsSkills
Ability to understand and analyse financial statements within the agricultural sectorDemonstrates effective time managementFamiliar with National Credit ActJob Benefits
