Our client located in Bryanston, Johannesburg is looking for a driven Dispensary Pharmacist to join their team.

About the role :
The dispensing pharmacist plays a key role in ensuring that compounded medications are dispensed correctly and safely. This includes reviewing prescriptions, verifying the final product, and ensuring that all labelling and documentation meet professional and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
- Verifying prescriptions for accuracy, legality, and therapeutic appropriateness.
- Reviewing compounded products before release to ensure proper labelling, packaging, and documentation.
- Counselling patients on correct use, storage, and potential side effects of compounded medications.
- Ensuring full compliance with SAPC and SAHPRA regulations, including scheduling, batch traceability, and record-keeping.
- Supporting the compounding and clinical teams with prescription queries and formulation-related discussions.
- Liaising with prescribers when clarification or therapeutic alternatives are needed.
- Accurately dispenses a variety of compounded medications.
- Verify product integrity, label accuracy, and batch details prior to final release
- Maintain complete and compliant dispensing records, especially for Scheduled medicines
- Ensure all products meet legal and professional requirements for labelling, expiry dating, and traceability
- Work closely with the compounding team to address any clinical or formulation-related queries.
- Communicate with healthcare professionals for clarifications or treatment advice.
- Assist in training and supervising dispensing assistants or pharmacy interns as needed
Minimum requirements :
Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) and current SAPC registration.3-5 years of experience in a compounding pharmacy is an advantage.High attention to detail.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, patient-facing and team-oriented.Computer literateAbility to perform under pressureWorking Hours : Monday- Friday (08 : 30-17 : 00)
