Toolmaker

Our company is looking for 1x Tool Maker and 1x Tool Maker trainee to join our team :

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, program and operate mills machines, lathes, surface grinders and CNC machining equipment by entering instructions, including zero and reference points
• Must be able to read and work from CAD / CAM files, engineering drawings, sketches and or verbal instructions to perform highly diversified EDM operations and specifications
• Able to create and edit semi-complex programs using CAD / CAM systems and machine controllers
• Perform complex precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions
• Check work using precision inspection instruments and devices
• Plan and construct intricate tools, fixtures and gauges to extremely close tolerances
• Perform work in a safe manner, keeping tool room equipment clean and in safe working condition
• Ensure all work is undertaken to a high-quality standard and adhere to all quality standard regulation
• Take ownership of smaller less complex specific tool suite to develop and maintain performance with minimal supervision
• Ensure company targets are met in respect of quality of parts produced
• Assisting in training workforce in proper setup and use of equipment / systems
• Make minor repairs to machines as instructed by supervisor
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
• Independently determine approach and assigned tasks
• Understanding of production costs to include waste, downtime scrap and re-work

Requirements

• Grade 12 with Math and Technical Drawing
• Tool Maker Trade Test completed
• Considerable previous tool making experience
• Experience with tooling and adjusting speeds and feeds
• Understanding manufacturing processes and engineering drawings
• Ability to work independently and under pressure to maintain production targets
• Planning and prioritizing workflow
• Problem solving skills
• Able to work as part of a team
• Practical hands-on approach to problem solving
• Willing to work overtime when required
