An established UK-based accounting firm is expanding its South African team and seeks a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA) with strong Xero accounting experience and a solid background in servicing small to medium-sized businesses.

About the Role

You will play a key role in delivering end-to-end accounting services to UK-based clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and insight-driven reporting. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with UK accountants and business owners, while enjoying the flexibility and culture of a Cape Town-based office.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Conduct financial analysis to provide strategic insights and recommendations to management.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare returns.
• Monitor and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
• Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies during audits.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Develop and refine financial policies and procedures.
• Provide financial guidance to internal departments and clients.
• Stay current with UK accounting standards and regulations.
• Prepare and maintain accounts using Xero Accounting Software.
