Junior Data Engineer

The Role :

We are seeking a Junior Data Engineer who is eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced scale-up environment. You’ll work alongside senior engineers and analysts to support the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and systems. Your focus will be on ensuring accurate and reliable data is available for decision-making across the business, while developing your skills in cloud technologies, data modeling, and analytics.

Key Role & Responsibilities :

• Assist in developing and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Support the design and implementation of data models that meet business needs.
• Help monitor data quality to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to support reporting and analytics.
• Collaborate with team members to integrate data systems with business applications.
• Document data processes and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
• Learn and apply best practices in cloud-based data engineering (GCP is our primary platform).
• Stay curious about new tools, technologies, and approaches in data engineering.

Core Competencies / Skills :

Curiosity and a willingness to learn new tools and technologies.

Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.

Good communication skills (verbal and written).

Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.

Basic programming knowledge in Python, Java, or another programming language.

Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar).

Exposure to cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) is an advantage.

Awareness of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or Looker) is a plus.

Required Qualifications and Skills :

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

1 – 3 years of professional experience in a data or software-related role.

Coursework, personal projects, or certifications in cloud platforms, databases, or data engineering tools will be considered advantageous.
