Job descriptionA recognized teaching qualification (B.Ed. in Foundation Phase or equivalent). IEB experience is required Experience at a Deputy level is required Registration with SACE (mandatory). Proven teaching experience in the Foundation Phase, with leadership or management experience at departmental or deputy level. Strong knowledge of the Foundation Phase curriculum and best practices in early childhood education. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. A passion for education and developing both learners and teachers.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide academic and operational leadership within the Foundation Phase (Grades R3).
- Support the Principal in strategic planning, curriculum development, and staff management.
- Mentor, guide, and support Foundation Phase teachers to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
- Foster a nurturing, child-centered environment that supports both academic and social-emotional development.
- Oversee assessment practices, learner progress, and reporting.
- Build strong partnerships with parents and the school community.
- Contribute to the broader life of the school through participation in events, culture, and extracurricular activities.
