Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage loading / offloading operations of crude oil and ballast / deballast operations.
  • Monitor cargo oil tanks, ballast tanks, cofferdams, and hull capacities.
  • Prepare and execute loading / offloading plans, including tank distribution, pumps, and valves.
  • Conduct trim and stability calculations and maintain accurate records.
  • Supervise pumpmen and allocate daily work tasks.
  • Oversee Crude Oil Washing operations, sediment deposit records, and slop water management in line with MARPOL.
  • Ensure operability and testing of trim & stability loading computer.
  • Prepare tanks for entry and follow up on cargo tank equipment maintenance.
  • Assist with marine operations, permits to work, and coordination with production teams.
  • Record / export data including tank gauging, metering accuracy, Vessel Experience Factor, and crude oil quality / quantity.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
  • Participate in HAZID / HAZOP / RA risk analyses and marine procedure development.
  • Report issues, maintain hazard awareness, and provide continuous feedback.
  • Support HSE management for all FPSO marine activities.

    • Requirements

  • Former Merchant Navy Officer with Chief Officer STCW Class 1 .
  • Minimum 3 years experience as Chief Officer on an oil tanker.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership experience in marine operations.
  • Fluent in English (French / Portuguese advantageous).
  • Certifications : STEFRAC , Integrated Flange Tightening Training (boundary bolted flange joint assembly).
  • Proven track record in teamwork, adaptability, and multicultural environments.
