Job descriptionKnowledge of Harmonized System (HS) Tariff Codes, customs valuation, and rules of origin Prior experience in the freight forwarding, logistics, or related industry non-negotiable Familiarity with Cargowise or similar systems is a strong advantage Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities :
- Oversee and monitor all import shipments to ensure smooth customs clearance
- Accurately classify a wide range of commodities under the correct tariff headings
- Determine and validate customs values
- Apply rules of origin and ensure compliance with preferential trade agreements
- Liaise directly with SARS, clients, and internal teams to resolve any tariff or valuation issues
- Ensure full compliance with customs laws, regulations, and company policies
- Keep up to date with the latest changes in customs
Required Skills & Experience :
High attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure
