Job descriptionCompleted SAICA or SAIPA articles. Minimum 3 years' post-articles experience in accounting. Strong technical knowledge of tax and accounting principles. Experience in dealing with SARS both via e-filing and other channels. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in training and mentoring staff. Driver's license. High attention to detail.
Our client in Maydon Wharf, Durban is looking for an accountant to join their team.
Based in the warehousing and logistics industry, the role will include looking after a small group of related companies. Experience of accounting in the warehousing industry would be highly desirable.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the entire accounting function for the business including attending to the bookkeeping function.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs for the business.
- Prepare budgets and monitor as required by the director.
- Work with the external accountants for year-end purposes, preparing packs and reconciliations.
- Attend to SARs returns, verifications, and queries.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Package & Remuneration
The salary is dependent on the level of experience and academic study and as such, the range of pay for this role is negotiable. A qualifying candidate can expect around R25,000.00 CTC per month.
