Overview
RPO Recruitment's client, a reputable construction company in South Africa is currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator with proven experience in renewable energy projects to join their dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the preconstruction phase, preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for solar and wind installations across commercial, industrial, and utility-scale markets.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for renewable energy projects, including solar PV, wind farms, battery storage, and EV charging infrastructure
- Analyse drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labour estimates
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and subcontractors to develop complete and competitive bids
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and evaluate project risks
- Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Maintain a database of unit costs and historical pricing for future project use
- Assist in bid reviews, proposal development, and value engineering exercises
- Monitor industry trends, construction costs, and renewable energy technology developments
