Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Understanding of accounting for both listed and unlisted investment portfolios across various asset typesStrong knowledge of accounting principles, tax legislation, and other relevant acts and standardsGood understanding of the taxation of trustsProficiency in preparing IFRS for SMEs annual financial statementsExperience in conducting and understanding independent review engagements (ISRE 2400)Proficiency in conducting and understanding compilation engagements for trusts (ISRS 4410)CasewareGreatsoftXeroWorking knowledge of SARS e-filing websiteWorking knowledge of tax software (Greatsoft would be an advantage)Minimum level of Education / Qualifications and experience required
BCom or BCom HonoursSAICA or SAIPA contract completedPA(SA) / AGA(SA) designationOne to two years post-articles experiencePersonal Qualities

Preparation of accounting records and annual financial statementsCompile Annual Financial Statements of various entity typesConducting review (ISRE 2400) and compilation engagements (ISRS 4410)Tax computations for Companies, Close Corporations and TrustsCompleting of annual income tax returns for individuals (including high-net-worth individuals and entrepreneurs), companies, trusts and exempt entitiesPreparation and submission of dividends tax returnsObjecting to incorrect tax assessmentsProvisional tax complianceSARS dispute resolution processDealing with queries from clients, SARS and other departments within the companyAttending to SARS verification lettersClosing Date
