About the role

A leading company in mobile asset management requires an Accountant at their Durbanville office a hybrid model might be implement later. This position will be focused on the financial accounting section of the Finance Department but will also provide support to the other areas where needed.

Core Responsibilities

The successful candidate who reports to the Financial Manager will be responsible for :

  • Daily and monthly general ledger review and ad hoc journal processing
  • Review creditor batches and payments
  • Allocation and assisting in coding of invoices
  • Review and release of sales orders daily
  • Assist with Product pricing
  • Review of weekly and monthly sales reports
  • Responsible for all Revenue accounts, review & posting of invoices and timeously closing of month end debtors.
  • Review of minimum stock order quantities and ensuring timeous stock procurement
  • Assistance with month end stock takes
  • Responsible for calculating and manage stock variances
  • Fixed asset register review and maintenance
  • Debtors Masterfile record review & maintenance
  • Responsible for and maintaining all new stock codes, new GL accounts, ect.
  • Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist in ensuring compliance of internal and external financial controls
  • Review of various statutory returns (SARS and SARB)
  • Daily / Monthly Cash management
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Ad hoc duties as required by Financial Manager

  • Skills, Experience and Qualification

  • BCom degree in accounting or equivalent qualification
  • Min 5 years post graduate experience in a similar position.
  • SAIPA qualified will be advantageous
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel; computer literate across MS Office suite.
  • Experience in Microsoft Dynamics GP / Dynamics D365 will be advantageous.
