Purpose
Provide independent, objective assurance to the Nedbank Group Limited Board of Directors via the Group Audit Committee (GAC) that governance, risk management and internal control are adequate and effective to mitigate current and emerging risks that threaten the Group\'s strategy and objectives, and help improve internal control and risk culture. GIA derives authority from the GAC, a Board committee responsible for reviewing the work of Internal Audit of Nedbank Group Limited and its subsidiaries (the Group).
Job Purpose
To provide strategic leadership and guidance to teams by offering independent assurance of the control environment to the Nedbank Group Audit Committee and ensuring effective risk management practices across Nedbank.
Job Responsibilities
- The Senior Audit Manager - Data shall be responsible for, inter alia, to the Nedbank Group CIA / Portfolio Executive / s :
- Support periodic assessments of internal audit outcomes to governing bodies (GAC, Board Risk Committee, EITCO, GITCO).
- Report on the overall effectiveness of governance, risk and internal control framework of the Group.
- Comply with regulatory and corporate governance expectations of internal audit functions.
- Report significant Emerging Technology issues related to controls, including potential improvements.
- Develop and implement technology solutions within Group Internal Audit to gain efficiencies (e.g., Robotics, AI, Machine Learning).
- Maintain a robust process to follow-up on management actions addressing Emerging Technology issues raised by GIA.
- Deliver and measure performance of the Emerging Technology portfolio, including audit plan delivery.
- Identify, understand and train the Digital & Technology team on Emerging Technology trends.
- Maintain an open, constructive relationship with senior internal and external stakeholders (Institute of Internal Audit, SARB, External Audit, Business Executives).
- Contribute to the development of a 12-month rolling audit plan (including Emerging Technology) using a risk-based methodology.
- Deliver and report on the rolling Emerging Technology risk-based internal audit plan.
- Follow-up and report on management progress implementing actions related to Emerging Technology issues identified by GIA.
- Maintain a relationship with CIA, GIA HoA : Digital & Technology, Business executives, and key stakeholders by providing value-added services.

Knowledge of data management frameworks and ability to conduct pilots for quick wins.Practical knowledge of data governance, data quality principles, data profiling and data quality tools.Practical knowledge of master data, reference data and meta-data concepts, standards, processes and tools.Practical knowledge of integration methods, processes and tools; ability to design and execute data integration.Practical knowledge of data privacy.Ability to organize functional work to add value and position the business to gain competitive advantage.Experience with extracting and processing large data sets to derive value.Essential Certifications
Minimum Bachelor\'s degree in information technology, business informatics, computer science, engineering or related field.Preferred qualifications in data management practices (e.g., CDMP).Minimum Experience Level
8 - 10 years financial services experience in a senior position; Data Management, Analytics and Control; Senior Management Experience.Experience working across multiple functional projects to understand data usage and implications for data management.Ability to derive value from data; prior consulting experience is advantageous; leadership experience supervising teams.Technical / Professional Knowledge
