Management ofSafety OversightPlansfor General Aviation Organisations(Part 93Part 149 and certain Part96Organisations)
- Determine thesafetyobjectivesfor the general aviation sector
- DrawupandimplementMasterOversightandSurveillancePlans / programmesfor safetyoversight
- Determine and allocate the resourcestoexecute the safetyand oversightplansManage the resourcesthat conduct thesafety oversightplans
- Continuously review operational performance against theMOSP and theprogress ofother technicaland operationalprograms.
- Make relevant recommendationspertaining tosafety management systemsforgeneral aviationorganisations.
Budgetingand Control
CompileandmanagethesectionsbudgetControlbudget expenditureImplement budget control procedures.OperationalManagement
Manage allinspectorsto ensure thatsafety isnotbeingcompromised.Scheduleinspectorstoensuretimeousresponse to operational trained inaccordinglyto performtheir dutiesMonitor andmeasuredepartmentalperformance.Oversee theoperationalprocessaccording to ICAOandISO standardsRespond totacticalandoperational issuesarisingfromdayto daygeneralaviationorganisation.Safetyand Quality Standards
Directly support with the creation of regulationsandsafety standardsfor generalaviationorganisations.Through the CAA Regulationensure that safetyismaintained for all generalaviationorganisations.Identify latent failures in the operators safety managementsystems.Guide the industry on according tosafety standardstoensure thatsafety isnotbeingcompromised.Act onbehalfof the SACAA toadvocate safetyand efficiencyofgeneral aviationorganisations.Regulatory Compliance
Establish operational frameworkforgeneralaviation organisationsin line withregulations.Provide entry support to the legalsystemonenforcementissuesthrough theEnforcement Committee.Updateandamend alldocumentationschecklists and proceduresto ensurecompliance withregulations.Supplyconsistentadviseoncompliance with regulations and policies to theindustry andthe Director ofCivil Aviationinline withbest practice.Managementof Direct Reports
Develop leaddisciplinesupervise and fosterhuman relationships to motivateandmanage ateamofpersonnel withinthegeneralaviationto ensuremaximumstaffefficiencyand performance.Managekeyperformanceareasofdirectlyreporting staffmemberstoensureachievement oftheir agreedobjectives.Monitor performance of staff against agreedperformance standardsand ensureattainment ofdepartmental deliverables.ProvideoperationalsupportanddirectiontostaffmembersEnsuredirectreportsareadequatelytrained.Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION :
Commercial Pilot License with 500 Flying Hours.NQF Level 6 Qualification in Management or related field.EXPERIENCE :
5 Years experience in General Aviation ORin a Aviation Regulation Environment.3 Years experience at management or supervisory level as an added advantage.Closing date : 03 October 2025
