Job description

Our client specializes in the manufacture of packaging for the personal care, household, pharmaceutical, and food and beverage markets, focusing on bespoke solutions.

They supply medium to large volume markets with a wide spectrum of offerings, including mould manufacture and maintenance.

Purpose of the Role :

The Credit Controller is responsible for managing and maintaining the financial health of the organization by ensuring the timely collection of outstanding debts, minimizing credit risk, and maintaining positive customer relationships. This involves monitoring customer credit, assessing creditworthiness, setting credit limits, and implementing effective credit control procedures to optimize cash flow and support business sustainability.

Qualifications :

  • Secondary Education Grade 12
  • Tertiary Education (including Diplomas, Certificates, and Degrees)
  • Tertiary qualification in Credit Control / Management is strongly preferred
  • 5-8 years relevant experience
  • Clear criminal record

    Accountability :

  • Responsible for all activities linked to the position as defined.
  • Ensures effective escalation structures.
  • Communication :

  • Maintain transparent, responsive, and open communication with colleagues.
  • Respond to emails within 24 hours.
  • Key Responsibilities :

  • Interact with payment portals and submit requests.
  • Grant credit to customers, liaising with credit bureaus.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve queries.
  • Follow up on goods returned notes and credit notes.
  • Create pro forma invoices, capturing orders and processing receipts.
  • Evaluate and post credit notes.
  • Identify, allocate, and post payments in bank accounts.
  • Report regularly on the debtors' status.
  • Work closely with the sales department.
  • Ensure timely collection of all owed money.
  • Manage late payments, payment plans, and poor payers.
  • Provide information for customer reviews and legal cases.
  • Handle SARB / SARS requirements related to exports.
