Check and confirm that all stock (including the packaging) designated for delivery to customers or other transporters are in a clean and orderly manner, which is acceptable to the customer.
Check and confirm the correct carton quantities and correct orders are ready, after checks by Security and before loading said stock onto the vehicle.
Drive in a manner that ensures the safety of all stock items while in-transit to customers premises.
Confirm that all time-based deliveries are delivered to the customers or other transporters within the agreed and / or booked times.
Conduct all deliveries and collections in a manner that assures the safety of the stock, vehicle and any HCS staff assisting on deliveries.
After delivery of stock, ensure that customers and / or suppliers sign-off on all
Company documentation as required for deliveries and collections.
Keep a record of the number of pallets and / or divider boards delivered and / or collected from customers and suppliers. Hand over the record to the Dispatch Supervisor during debriefing.
Check and confirm that the Assistants offload all goods, stock, pallets and divider boards at the Warehouse upon return from deliveries and / or collections.
Submit all relevant documents for the scheduled deliveries and collections to the Dispatch Supervisor.
Submit all relevant documents to the Receiving Department (returns and collections).
Debrief the Dispatch Supervisor on a daily basis after your delivery and collection trips to ensure that the Supervisor is aware of any challenges or concerns.
Assist the Driver Assistants to load and / or off-load stock at the customers or Warehouse.
Assist to timeously and safely load and off load stock.
Always monitor the activities and performance of the Assistant.
Confirm that the vehicle is in a roadworthy state before using it for deliveries and collections.
Inspect the vehicle in line with the Vehicle Pre-Operation Checklist, which is to be completed by the Driver and handed over to the Dispatch Supervisor, daily.
Report any vehicle defects or faults identified to the Dispatch Supervisor immediately.
Complete and submit the vehicle trip sheet daily, for every trip conducted on any vehicle assigned to you.
Fill the vehicles adequately for all scheduled trips by using the BP rewards card and fleet card assigned to each Driver.
Park in visible and safe areas during deliveries and collections, using all the security
features installed on the vehicle (locks, immobilisers, steering locks etc.) and ensure the safety of the vehicle.
Submit fuel slips for any fuel purchases made for the vehicle.
Report any incidents that concern company's customers, stock, the Assistant and Company vehicles that were encountered during deliveries and / or collections.
Keep the vehicle in a clean and neat state.
Abide by the traffic laws and regulations on private and public roads.

Treat the customers in a professional, friendly and efficient manner during deliveries and collections.
Assist in the cleaning and upkeep of the Dispatch Department area and yard when not on deliveries
Guide the Assistant on the appropriate clothing to ensure that they look neat, clean and safe (wearing of PPE).
Report any lack of cooperation from the Assistant to the Dispatch Supervisor immediately.
Provide the necessary instructions to the Assistant and any other staff to ensure timeous, orderly and safe loading and offloading of stock in the Warehouse and at customers or supplier premises.
Continuously monitor the conduct of the Assistant while on delivery to ensure that the Assistant is behaving in a professional, friendly and energetic manner
Complying with Company procedures, rules, and regulations.
