Job Description
The Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering ionizing radiation treatments to patients in accordance with the prescription and guidance of a Radiation Oncologist. This role includes performing patient simulations to prepare for therapy, providing basic patient care, and offering education to support patients throughout their treatment journey.

- Shift Details and Hours : PRN (as needed), with shifts varying based on departmental needs
- Shift differentials given for evenings, nights, and weekends
Essential Functions
Interpret and accurately implement radiation treatment prescriptions and plans as directed by the Radiation Oncologist.Administer and document all simulation and treatment procedures in accordance with established protocols.Conduct simulation procedures, including the creation and application of appropriate immobilization devices to ensure precise treatment delivery.Acquire accurate anatomical measurements, contours, and data necessary for dosimetry and treatment planning.Provide compassionate, basic patient care during treatment sessions, ensuring comfort and safety.Educate patients about their treatment process and monitor for clinical symptoms or side effects, reporting concerns to the care team.Ensure timely and accurate documentation and billing for all treatment-related procedures.Essential Skills

Valid Radiologic Technologist license in the state of practiceCertification in Radiation Therapy from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providersPreferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited institutionPhysical Requirements
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly accurately.Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer use and typing.Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients; may bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, including items of varying weights up to and including heavy items.Need to walk and assist with transporting / ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment, including pushing / pulling gurneys and portable equipment.May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.For roles requiring driving : Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.Location
