Description
In the position of Junior Accountant, you will ensure the accuracy of financial statements by preparing, recording, and analyzing the accounting and financial information for the South Africa Office.
To be successful in this role, you should have excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management and communication skills as well as reporting skills, attention to detail, deadline-oriented, reporting research results, confidentiality, time management, data entry management, general math skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Strong Accounts Receivable including but not limited to generating invoices, processing payments, reconciling ledgers, contacting clients about overdue payments, resolving billing issues and producing financial reports
- Processing and verifying of supplier invoices and reconciling monthly creditors ledger and ensuring timely payments.
- Support the accounting processes of the company and the preparation and presentation of financial statements under IFRS.
- Prepare daily reconciliations for bank / cash accounts.
- Prepare monthly reconciliation schedules for prepaids, customer deposits, revenue, sales tax, accruals, and other accounts.
- Provide financial information to management by researching and analysing accounting data.
- Review and analyze the results of the balance sheet and income statements, on a monthly basis to ensure that the monthly financial reports contain accurate and reliable information.
- Tie-out support schedules to Balance sheet and Income statement.
- Maintain customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
- Support with monthly, quarterly and annual closings including preparation and posting of journal entries.
- Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
- Any other tasks as would reasonably be required.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Business / Accounting degree or Bookkeeping Certificate.2 or more years of experience in similar positions (Junior Accountant, Accounts Payable, Financial Analyst, Bookkeeper).Experience in accounting processes such as bank reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, leases and accounting reports.Demonstrable experience in preparing financial statements under IFRS, tax preparation and settlements, structuring and documenting accounting processes.Experience in related sectors, software, IT, services, etc.Recent, commercial experience in financial accounting, preferably with exposure to a larger offshore group / global team.Excellent Excel and MS Office skills.Desire to learn new skills.Be a future oriented individual, able to see the chance to make improvements and be excited by change.Job Benefits
