Job Description
The Internal Finance Team Lead is responsible for managing financial records, assisting with payroll accounting, and supporting the finance team in budgeting, reporting, and reconciliations. This role involves maintaining a high standard of accuracy in data entry and reporting, as well as staying certified and proficient in Xero software. The Junior Accountant will collaborate closely with the HR department to process payroll transactions, ensuring timely and compliant payroll payments.
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll Accounting and Support : Process payroll transactions, including salary payments, deductions, and benefits, ensuring accuracy and compliance; coordinate with HR on payroll-related administrative tasks and approvals; manage payroll journals in Xero and reconcile payroll expenses.
- Data Entry and Record Keeping : Maintain accurate records in Xero, categorize and document financial transactions; process invoices, receipts, and journal entries promptly; assist with monthly and annual reconciliations to ensure data integrity.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis : Prepare monthly reports (Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss, Cash Flow); assist in budgeting and forecasting; generate reports to track payroll and expenses and highlight variances.
- Compliance and Certification in Xero : Stay certified in Xero and complete required training; ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies; assist with audits and keep records audit-ready.
- Collaboration with HR and Departmental Support : Work with HR to obtain payroll information and with department managers to gather budget data; provide financial support and respond to internal queries.
- Bank and Account Reconciliations : Perform monthly reconciliations and resolve discrepancies; assist with cash flow tracking to meet obligations.
- Continuous Improvement and Professional Development : Identify process improvements in payroll accounting and reporting; stay updated on Xero updates and accounting best practices.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of experience in bookkeeping / accounting or related role; experience with XERO is beneficial.Ability to build courteous relationships with clients and work independently or in a team; strong time management and attention to detail; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Excellent data entry and numerical accuracy; strong communication skills; willing to hybrid working after probation.#J-18808-Ljbffr
