Senior Information Security Analyst

Posted 18 days ago - Western Cape. Our consulting client seeks a seasoned analyst to work in a hybrid model with dynamic teams, architects and stakeholders.

Responsibilities :

  • Plan and deploy technical security solutions, driving projects to completion.
  • Collaborate with solutions architects to support implementation efforts.
  • Maintain complex security environments and ensure operational stability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve security issues.
  • Assess risks from new vulnerabilities and contribute mitigation recommendations.
  • Participate in customer engagements and incident bridges, supporting complex technical issues as needed.
  • Contribute to quality assurance efforts and peer reviews.
  • Support documentation efforts including proposals, reports, and project materials.
  • Take ownership of assigned technologies and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
  • Demonstrate understanding of business principles and contribute to design work with guidance.
  • Work overtime and assist with standby duties as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as defined by leadership.
  • Monitor external threat landscape and share relevant insights.
  • Create and contribute to reports and technology updates.
  • Resolve escalated incidents and requests within SLA timelines.
  • Update tickets consistently with resolution details.
  • Provide third‑level support and assist in root‑cause analysis.
  • Share knowledge and document solutions for broader team use.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients.
  • Support change implementation and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and collaborate with relevant teams.
  • Participate in quality audits as required.

Requirements :

  • 4–6 years of information security experience.
  • CEH, CASP+ and Microsoft Azure certifications (preferred).
  • CCIE, CISSP, CISM, CISA or equivalent.
  • Experience with security architecture tools and methodologies.
  • Hands‑on IT security solutions and understanding of IT operations and project deployments.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as POPIA and GDPR.
  • Effective communication of security concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Cloud security tools and managed services experience.
  • Proficiency in ticketing systems (ServiceNow, 4Me, Jira).
  • Experience in enterprise environments and vendor coordination.
  • SIEM / SOC technologies such as Azure Sentinel.
  • Vulnerability management, threat / risk analysis, firewall / IPS / IDSE, endpoint protection (XDR).
  • Basic penetration testing and ethical hacking.
  • Solid understanding of change management processes and strong technical skills in security domains.
  • Good client service orientation, communication skills, adaptability, resilience and problem‑solving skills.
  • Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

    Location : Pinelands, Western Cape – Old Mutual South Africa. Salary range : R1,200,000 – R2,400,000.

    Responsibilities focus on establishing and enforcing the organization's security strategy, policies and governance frameworks, overseeing risk management, incident response, compliance, security architecture, data protection, Agile implementation, technology evaluation, stakeholder collaboration and team leadership.

    Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security or related field; honours or master’s preferred.
  • Relevant ISO and Agile training / institutional certifications.
  • 10+ years of experience in the information security industry.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (SAFe, Scrum, LeSS).
  • Strong knowledge of security architecture, design and frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
  • Experience in risk management, incident response and compliance.
  • Expertise in network, application and cloud security.
  • Edge‑level communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Cyber Security Engineer

    Location : Century City, Western Cape – DataTech Recruitment. Salary : R840,000 – R1,080,000 per year.

    What you’ll do :

  • Design and implement cyber security strategies for customers.
  • Manage firewalls, patching, endpoint protection and intrusion detection.
  • Oversee SIEM systems, device management and SSO solutions.
  • Develop and enforce security policies, procedures and change management.
  • Provide 3rd‑level support for cyber incidents and investigations.
  • Work closely with service delivery teams to strengthen client‑facing security processes.
  • Partner with developers to architect secure, resilient applications.
  • What you’ll bring :

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in cyber security roles.
  • Solid knowledge of firewalls, SIEM, endpoint protection and intrusion detection.

  • Senior Cyber Security Analyst

    Location : Claremont, Western Cape – Parvana. Permanent role.

    About the client : An international client requiring a technology partner that integrates AI, machine learning and automation to deliver high‑level security services.

    Responsibilities :

  • Continuously monitor client environments and security systems for alerts and incidents.
  • Analyze logs and traffic patterns to provide appropriate responses.
  • Conduct in‑depth investigations on security events, raise incidents and ensure containment.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex incidents, providing remediation and recommendations.
  • Lead proactive threat hunting investigations.
  • Develop and implement automation, notification, response and remediation processes.
  • Develop security dashboards, reporting and processes.
  • Support the ongoing maintenance of the Information Security Management System (ISMS).
  • Manage multiple customer environments concurrently.
  • Stay updated on the evolving cybersecurity landscape and educate the team.
  • Requirements :

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Cyber Security or Information Security.
  • Certifications from recognized bodies such as Microsoft, CompTIA, SANS, CREST or ISC².
  • 3+ years of experience as a Cyber Security Analyst or equivalent.
  • Direct experience in a SOC environment using SIEM, SOAR and EDR.
  • Strong knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework and malware detection.
  • Networking knowledge for traffic analysis.
  • Experience with Microsoft Sentinel, KQL and threat hunting.
  • Passion for security, excellent communication, leadership and strong time‑management skills.
  • Senior IT Lecturer – Cybersecurity (Academic)

    Location : Cape Town.

    Key responsibilities include :

  • Develop and review study guides and assessment materials.
  • Mark assessments and provide feedback to students.
  • Research and design learning journeys.
  • Deliver lectures (online and in‑person) for CL and DL students.
  • Produce research output and enhance instructional methodologies.
  • Qualifications :

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or related field (PhD preferred).
  • 5+ years of higher‑education teaching experience.
  • Strong background in algorithms, data structures, discrete mathematics and computer architecture.
  • Experience in academic research and output.
  • Excellent analytic, mentoring and communication skills and resilience under pressure.
