Introduction

The purpose of the role is to manage and coordinate the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring maximum efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction while maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship.

  • Assign tasks to technicians based on their skill level, efficiency, and the priority of the job.
  • Oversee job progress, ensuring that work is completed within the established deadlines.
  • Perform quality checks and conduct final road tests on completed vehicles to ensure they meet standards.
  • Collaborate with the parts and service departments to align repair schedules.
  • Offer technical support and guidance to technicians whenever necessary.
  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities are properly documented.
  • Maintain workshop tools and equipment, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Support the training and development of junior technicians and apprentices.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance overall workshop productivity.
  • Proven experience in an automotive workshop environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems and diagnostics.
  • Ability to identify trends in failures and work out root causes and preventative measures.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work long hours.
  • Physically fit.
